Nobody hands the self-employed a benefits packet.

When you work for yourself, health insurance stops being a form you fill out in October and becomes one more thing you're supposed to figure out alone, usually at the worst possible time, and usually while doing your actual job.

That's the part I take off your plate. I'm independent, so I'm not steering you toward one company's shelf, and my help costs you nothing.

What most self-employed people get wrong

They guess at their income. What you report drives what you qualify for, and self-employment income is harder to estimate than a salary. Getting this right is most of the work.

They only price the premium. The monthly number is the easy part to compare and the least useful. Deductible, network, and what happens in a bad year are what actually decide whether a plan was a good idea.

They wait for open enrollment when they did not have to. Losing other coverage, a move, a marriage, or a new baby can open a window right now.

What I need from you

Dates of birth, zip code and county, a realistic estimate of this year's household income and size, tobacco use, and whether you have any coverage now. Ten minutes, and I'll come back with real options.

If you have employees

Small group coverage is a different conversation with different rules, and sometimes the right answer is helping people onto individual plans instead. Worth a call either way before you commit to anything.
